I keep waiting for my favorite time of year to start but I am still sweating myself to sleep as my roommate the A/C Nazi keeps turning the air off. Isn't it supposed to be fall? I am heading back the The Dub-V to renew my hillbilly card with a good ole family wedding. My brother is tying the knot so will get to see some of the family that I haven't seen in a while. My accent will probably come back and my urge to sport a mullet may too.

I remember weddings in the past with the family being fun, but not like the ones I have been to recently where i don't quite remember everything that happened. These being weddings of friends where I don't know that many people and can just have fun and go crazy. This will be my first immediate family wedding so should be interesting. I hope they found some moonshine for the punch.

A couple other things I remember about fall are the leaves changing in the mountains when all the leavers flock to the hills and the beginning of hunting season.

The first season being squirrel season. Any of you all ever tried eating squirrel? You’re not missing much; they taste like a boney greasy chicken. But it is fun to hunt them. This is pretty much something that I have given up at this point in my life as I like to sleep in, but I can remember at least a few times raining hellfire into the sky with a cloud of leaves falling all around me. It is the only good reason a person can give to go into the woods with a pump action 12 gauge armed to the teeth. Yeah a 12 gauge is over kill for such a small little rodent, but I would still more often than not miss the little buggers.

Maybe I can pick up a squirrel tail for my car antenna while in the Dub-V this trip.
